Join the Made of Mars Journey - $1+

This reward will give you a front row seat to our Journey to Mars. It will entitle you to the latest updates from the Made of Mars team and first access to news and progress.

Direct the Journey to Mars - $20+

Donate $20 or more and you will have a voice in directing our journey.

Made of Mars wants to use basalt to make the things that you want. Do you want a backpack, a suitcase or a jacket? Tell us here and jumpstart its development!

This reward entitles you to vote for our next Made of Mars product.

Supporters will become part of the design process as you are consulted during reviews and offered the earliest opportunity to get your hands on the next generation of Made of Mars products.

The Deimos Wallet, named after the smaller of the two moons of Mars, is our folding wallet. It will feature basalt fabric paneling, allowing you to carry a bit of volcano wherever you go while showing your support for Space Exploration.

The final design is still evolving but will feature basalt fabric panels and be optimized for Space style and the materials of Mars exploration.

Our laptop SpaceCase is designed to highlight your passion and investment in Space Exploration.

The SpaceCase will prominently display a basalt-fabric paneling exterior and a soft fleece interior to protect your computer. We are offering these for 13in and 15in laptops. Once we are ready for production, we will contact you for the size specification of your order.

The final design is still evolving and may change from what is shown here. It will still feature the basalt panels and be optimized for Space design and materials.

Supporters and one guest will have the opportunity to join Made of Mars founder, Dr. J.R. Skok, on an expedition to three of the most iconic Mars analog environments on Earth.

Expeditions will tour and sample the volcanic landscapes that will be used to develop future Made of Mars products and technology. The expeditions will allow you to experience the Mars analog geology that has trained a generation of planetary scientists, engineers and astronauts.

The Mojave Desert in Southern California has a long legacy as a Mars Analog. Its desert landscape and volcanoes are a close compositional and geomorphic match to what we will encounter on Mars.

This reward will support a four-day expedition of the desert geology of the Mojave. We will sample basaltic rocks from several volcanic centers to compare to what we know is on Mars. We will visit the key Mars analog features of the Mojave, including volcanoes, playa lakes, sand dunes and desert pavements, while learning how each teaches us about Mars.

No place in America is as connected to its volcanoes as are the islands of Hawaii.

It is a key training ground for planetary explorers to understand volcanic landscapes and a test bed for Lunar and Martian technology. Basalt rocks make up most of the island and is continually replenished by active eruptions.

41_20070403_YoungBlackLava_060918151838.

This reward is for a five-day expedition to the Big Island and focus on the volcanic history and how it compares to Mars. The experience will include exploration of Volcanoes National Park, Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and lava tubes. We will learn about the diversity of volcanic landforms and how these materials can be transformed into the building blocks for Mars.

Iceland is a geologic wonderland.

It is one of the best analogs we have for early Mars. The Made of Mars team has led several NASA-supported expeditions to map the hot springs of Iceland. By exploring Iceland, you will get an understanding of the hot springs, volcanoes, glaciers and rivers that would have sculpted early Mars.
