The Journey to Mars is now in your hands!

Join our Journey to Mars by supporting the launch of our initial line of products on Kickstarter!

You can now invest in a future in space as we learn to build products from the materials that we can find on Mars. We will transform volcanic rocks into products you can use today as the first step toward building locally and sustainably anywhere in the solar system.

We are starting with volcanic basalt. Basalt is the most common rocks on Mars, covers the near side of the Moon and many asteroids. Basalt is also found across Earth. It makes up Hawaii, Iceland and covers the ocean floor and found on all the continents.

Building from basalt will be a key step toward a sustainable future on and beyond Earth.

Basalt rock can be melted back to lava, pulled into threads and woven into fabrics. These fabrics can be used to make softgoods and space suits or stiffened with resin to build luggage and rockets.

Made of Mars is launching the first consumer products that will put this Journey into your hands! We are launching the Phobos and Deimos Wallets, and the Spacecase Laptop Sleeve to put a little lava in your lives.

These wallets and cases will feature basaltic fabrics to protect some of your most valuable possessions while supporting the innovation we need to build toward Mars. These products will teach us how to build with basalt to make great products for you to use now and work toward building toward Mars.

The Mars Experience

Is having a volcano in your pocket not enough for you?

Join Made of Mars on the next best thing to blasting off our planet. Join the Made of Mars founder and geologist, J.R. Skok, PhD on a expedition to the most Mars-like terrains on Earth. Places like the Mojave Desert, Iceland and Hawaii are used by generations of scientists, engineers and explorers to understand the geology and landforms of Mars, while testing out the lastest rovers and technology needed to explore.

Now you can join these expeditions to understand how Made of Mars will use there rocks and minerals of these Mars analogs to build the basis of a civilization beyond Earth. You will help map the volcanoes and examine the rocks that will teach us how to explore.
